See Stock Ufly video
See Hot Rod Ufly video. First video is the fixed pitch Super Hot Rod Ufly doing a loop.
1. FP heli are easier to fly than CP due to the cone shape of the fixed pitch blades that produce more stable air current.
2. The Head speed of the FP is about 500 to 1000 rpm lower than the CP making it much safer to be around people. FP heli can be flown anywhere without intimating your neighbors. They are not scary like the CP with high head speed. Take it out to a picnic or fly it in a parking lot while your wife does her shopping and you no longer panic when kids start to chase it down.
4. FP is easy to maintain, balance and repair because the head design is much simpler.
5. FP is cheaper to crash and less likely to break in a crash compare to CP.
Why purchase a CP when you don't fly 3D. FP is designed with much more stability and control for sports flying.

Maintening the stock and the Hot Rod high performance Uflys
It is important to make sure that the tail transmission gear is meshed to the main gear as tight as possible. The Ufly tail shaft bearings are not confined to lock into one position inside the tail boom and as a result often the bearings will often move toward the center of the tail boom. This will results in loose tension on the gear mesh and the tail transmission gear will strip easily. What you do is to move the end bearing as far out toward the edge of the tail boom and use a sharp nail to punch a small indent on the tail boom behind the bearing so that the bearing will no longer be allowed to move towards the center of the tail boom. By keeping the bearing as close as possible to the main gear will reduce tail drive shaft from flexing and retains its tension on the gear mesh. You should do this to all Ufly(S) since this is a generic issue on stock Ufly(s) but it is especially important on the high performance Hot Rod Uflys. Next, make sure the mesh between the main and tail transmission gear is as tight as they can be. This can be done by pushing the tail boom as far in towards the main frame as possible then secured it with the stock tail clamp and the tail boom locking screw. Also, it is important to avoid landing and taking off on grass for all helis, as the tail blades will strike the grass and transfers extra stress to the tail transmission gear. With the proper care for your Ufly(s) and other tail driven helis will provide years of enjoyment.
