Update: There are now several V120D02 versions in the market. The most up-to-date 3D-problem-free & WK2801PRO-programmable version is the V120D02 Version-2 which includes the Version-2 RX2610V plus the stronger and beefier Version-2 swashplate. Unfortunately, Walkera did not label the Version-2 parts differently than the flawed Version-1 parts therefore most vendors don't know what they have on hand. Since both the yellow and the red canopy has been used on both versions, color is no longer a reliable indication of the version. Currently Wow Hobbies only offers the updated V120D02 Version-2 and all older versions has been delisted including the V120D02 Version-1 and the V120D02S with the RX2610S.
8-21-10 Update:On this update, Wow offered 2 options. (1) a Version-1 V120D02 that includes the Version-1 RX2610V which is programmable through the WK2801PRO transmitter. However, Version-1 RX2610V is not properly tuned for 3D flight. (2) a modified V120D02 that includes the RX2610S resolves the 3D problem but is not programmable through the WK2801PRO transmitter (adjustable directly on the receiver). There is a now a 3rd option which is descriped on the 10-26-10 Update on the top of this page which is the most preferred up-to-date Version-2 V120D02.
7-09-10 Update:The Walkera V120D02, the latest in the Walkera 4G6 series, features the flybarless structure typically used on real helicopters. This major step towards scaled effect also serves to improve wind tolerance since overall rotation surface is significantly reduced. Cutting edge Walkera micro 3-axis technology provides the necessary stability on a flybarless setup.
As for ease of maintenance and upgrades, the V120D02 is already steps ahead of its competition. Many of the parts and upgrades are shared with 4G6S (Also known as the Heli-Max Novus 125 CP), it's flybar with paddles version.
For intermediate and advance pilots, the Walkera V120D02 offers a new and expanded horizon in the field of sub-micro helicopters. It's easier on your fingers and your budget. With a smaller and lighter frame, you can fly it almost any where. Rather than 4G6S, many 3D pilots prefers the V120D02's flybarless operation which offers smoother transitions into inverted flight and reduced surface friction for faster pirouettes.
