HM-4G3-Z-11: Walkera 4G3 & Helimax Novus CP helicopters uses the same main shaft. A useful tip in checking your old main shaft for damage is to roll it on a flat surface and see if the shaft is wably.

In turning up the heat on micro-sized collective pitch helicopters, the Walkera 4G3 has continued to churn out new technology at a dynamic pace. With the help of advanced upgrades, the 4G3 has now morphed into a turbo double brushless phenomenon, leading to the demise of many including the Gaui 200 and the NanoWalker. Never before has a CP helicopter caught on so quickly. A smart, thorough & clean design, superior electronics & architecture and convenient & cost effective maintenance have all contributed to its rapid rise to stardom.
Before deciding on a 4G3 Brushless Metal or a Novus CP Brushed Plastic micro or nano-sized helicopter, please consider the 2-5 key upgrades missing on most RTF configurations. The main motor options include the Walkera Brush & Brushless Main Motor and the more powerful Turbo Ace Brushless 81220 Main Motor (92% more pay load or 37% more power). The tail motor options include the Walkera Brush Tail Motor, the Walkera 2g Brushless Tail Motor (no bearings) and the 2.9g Turbo Ace 29700 Brushless Tail Motor with double bearings (extreme tail hold during acceleration & quadruple the life span). If a radio transmitter (TX) is included with a 4G3 package, the options are the WK-2601 (Heli-Max Novus HMXJ2026) or the Programmable WK-2801. All of Wow's 4G3 helicopters include Precision CNC Metal Head Parts while the Nouvs CP is re-branded from a 4G3 with Plastic Head Parts.
All brush motors for Walkera's 4G3 and Novus CP are mass produced and have shorter life spans due the brushes wearing out with an average life span of 30 flights. On the other hand, the much more durable brushless motors are extremely labor intensive due to hand-wound wires that increase costs. When looking for a brushless helicopter, you need to research the performance of the upgraded brushless motor because they are by no means created equal. Turbo Ace 81220 main brushless motor and 29700 tail brushless motor are currently the most advanced high performance combinations for the Walkera 4G3. Torque, startup reliability, compatibility, lift, durability and weight saving are all crucial in determining the viability and performance of a brushless upgrade. To upgrade to a brushless motor later can be expensive/time consuming and requires brushless motors, ESCs, wires and a bit of patience so it will be wise to consider purchasing a brushless 4G3 helicopter from the very start.
