Newest version: Not all HP05 are created equal !
This version has been tested with the E-Flite Blade MCP X micro heli brushless conversion. The 16 teeth pinion is for Walkera helis, not for MCP X application. You can remove the pinion for E-flite Blade MCP X brushless upgrade application.
See video of the brushless conversion from Wow Hobbies using the following components.
E-Flite MCP X brushless main motor conversion parts are as follow:
Optional tail conversion parts to improve tail authority after the main brushless conversions are as follow:
or you can build your own tail assembly system as follows
Wow Hobbies has tested the above configurations with success ( We have completed 5 brushless MCP X with great result) but we make no gurantee on the performance of your MCP X conversion. Brushless conversions can be quite complex or it can go very smoothly if you do your homework and double check your work carefully. We will not be responible for any damages as the result of the conversion and the parts are not returnable. We can only recommend the parts to use but we are not obligated to guide you through the conversion process. If you are unfamiliar with brushless conversions, please Google it and join a forum to learn how.
The ultimate BL main motor upgrade on the V100D01/CB100/4#3B is here. Turbo Ace 51416 (HP05) outrunner is an updated version of the 61316 (HP06). This lighter motor promotes excellent tail hold w/o tail rotor trimming which is required on the 61316
This is the newest version Turbo Ace 51416 (HP05-2) for the V100D01, CB100 & 4#3B with no startup cogging problem running on stock Walkera ESC. This motor has been tested on the CB100 and 4#3B and has the best power/weight ratio. A light weight CB100/4#3B helicopter with this motor will be more agile even with just about .4 grams lighter and slightly smaller than its predecessor, the Turbo Ace 61316 (HP06-2). HP series of motors are known for high precision quality which translates to smooth operation and easy startups with no hand cranking required.
For the outrunner motor to start smoothly, you can also solder the 3 motor wires directly to the ESC. It is important to remove and discard the ESC wires and connector so that the wiring length is at the minimal. You must discard the wires and the connector from the ESC side and not use them. If the motor turns in the wrong direction just desolder any 2 wires, swap them and solder them back to the ESC. If you own a V100D01, 4#3B or CB100 it is an option to swap the ESC with the V100D01/4#6/4G6 ESC since Turbo Ace and other outrunner motos starts better with V100D01, 4#3B, CB100 ESC which have different timing for the outrunners.
Warning! Installing pinion on micro motor requires special technique and care otherwise the shaft can easily bent or the pinion skewed. Wow Hobbies has already installed the pinion for you on this motor to avoid the risk of permenent motor shaft damage.
High performance HP05 (replaces the HP06), HP06, HP07 (replaces the HP08), HP08 and Turbo Ace 31714 motors require high discharge rate 20C batteries. For a selection of these batteries go to
.
