Turbo Ace 80814 2-Cell Brushless Motor: HP08-3 2S, 14T Pinion Installed, Exceptionally High Performance & Thermo-Cool Outrunner for 4G6S & 4G6

Price: $44.95
Item Number: MT-80814 + Screws
Newest 2 cell version custom to Wow Hobbies' specifications: Caution: not all HP08 are created equal !
Currently the 2 cell setup is the most reliable in motor startups and has the highest torque available for the 4G6S/4G6/4G3/Heli-Max Novus 125 CP. Requires 2 cell Custom Ebay ESC (Walkera's ESC will not work under 2 cell and other Ebay ESCs will not function with the 4G6 receiver). Available at http://www.wowhobbies.com/sale1299xp-7aebayblesc-2.aspx
Also the latest linear 300mAh 2 cell battery with longer flight time than the 400mAh 1 cell  is now available at http://www.wowhobbies.com/battery-true400mah20clinearcurrentforlama2-14343a43b43q5g64g34g6cb100novuscxfpandcp-1.aspx

Pinion is installed and balanced.
For a precise balance of the head when operating with this high torque motor, we recommend the optional Stay-True CNC rotor head.

WK-2801/pro radio settings used on the Manual Campos 3D video: See below.
Note that the throttle curves does not have to be set to 100% for the 80814 motor to achieve its optimum performance. The current drop is extremely low when the motor is working at 7.4v hense the thrust remains linear during peak. The following settings used below are for expert pilots only and for the 1 cell operation. 2 cell does not need the 100% throttle curve setting. If you are a beginner/intermediate pilot, these settings will be too sensitive and may need to be adjusted per your flying requirement.

Difference between 1 cell and this 2 cell for your 4G6 upgrade. On both the 1s and 2s setup, the receiver obtains its power from the BEC of the ESC so no matter what the battery voltage is, the BEC voltage is constantly at 5v which is a desirable voltage for the Walkera receiver. When you go for the 2 cell setup, make sure that the motor supports 2 cell which this one does and also the ESC must support 2 cell. Wakera stock ESC only supports 1 cell so you need to purchase an Ebay ESC for 1-2s that comes fully cable ready, go to http://www.wowhobbies.com/sale1299xp-7aebayblesc-2.aspx
Ebay ESC should not be used as 1s for this motor even it supports 1s due to the lack of current in 1s mode for HP08 motors.
Our comments are as follows in choosing a 1s or 2s motor setup.
"When you're flying indoor, the extra power of the 2 cell is not going to do anything for you as space is limited. When you are outside, that is when the 2s comes in handy. Granted that pilots like Manual Campos prefers 1s because it's lighter and more agile for the flips. You will find the average intermediate pilots benefit from the extra punch to get out of trouble. This is very similar to driving an eight cylinder engine car, the engine does not stall when you punch the gas. On the other hand the one cell is like a lighter sports car, it is more agile but if you punch it the motor may cog. With the extra voltage at crunch time I have been able to make a few saves on some close call crash. I do loose a tiny bit of zip compared to the one cell. Both 1s and 2s versions have their benefits and it all depends on your personal need."

This 80814 motor will only start properly when the 3 motor wires are soldered directlly to the Walkera or Nouvs ESC. Do not use connectors! The shorter the wires are from the motor to the ESC, the better the motor performance. If the motor turns in the wrong direction just desolder any 2 wires, swap them and solder them back to the ESC. Thou this motor is the same as the 81220-4G3, the depth of the pinion is different, it has been adjusted to fit the 4G6/4G6S/Heli-Max Novus 125 CP & Novus CP. If you have a 4G3 or Novus CP, you need to order the 81220-4G3 with the proper pinion depth for the 4G3 & Nouvs CP.

The newest Thermo cool Turbo Ace 80814 (HP08-2S With 14T Pinion) outrunner brushless motor for the Walkera 4G6S/4G6 & Heli-Max Novus 125 CP with more torque than the stock Walkera BL motor.  Outrunner motors have inherantly higher mass moments of inertia and linear momentum that offers extra punch and prevents stalls.  Like a car with more horse power the 80814 enables faster acceleration.  Like a world class gymnast, a lighter aircraft is also more nimble and responsive.  You can say linear momenutum is beneficial inside the motor but not in your over all flight mass.
Operating at 120 degrees, the 80814 temperature is 20 degrees cooler than 4G6 stock brushless motor.  Premature bearing failure are often associated with exccesive heat and ineffecient use of battery power.  The 80814 provides exceptional lifespan and extended flight time.  There is no longer any fear that your motor will burn out because you didn't wait long enough for it to cool off between flights.

Important Instruction:  The Turbo Ace 80814 (HP08-2S) is optimized when the 3 wires from the motor are soldered directly to the Walkera main ESC. By doing so, the motor will run stronger, less likely to cog and will not stall during startup. Directly soldering the wires to the ESC will result in shorter wires and no contact points. This type of installation is a little inconvenient for maintenance since you can not unplug the motor as easily but it reduces the resistance of the current from the ESC to the motor allowing the motor to operate at its optimum state. If the motor runs in a reverse direction, just unsolder any 2 wires, switch them and solder them back to the ESC.
