Why is the 2.9g Turbo Ace 29700 Brushless Tail Motor a better choice than the Walkera 2g tail motor which is the Turbo Ace 27700 motor? We carry both motors and we think you should know the difference when you are paying extra. The 2.9g motor has about 50% more torque/power and it comes with double bearings verses the 2g with no bearings. The bearings greatly prolongs the life of the motor!

 

This tail kit includes 2.9g C-shape tail motor carbon fiber holder/stand, exclusive motor-locking clamp and 2.9g brushless tail outrunner motor. Tail rotor blade on photo is not included. A Walkera brushless tail ESC with build-in converter is required. To purchase the tail ESC go to

This combo does not include the Walkera tail ESC which is needed to drive this 2.9g brushless motor. This tail holder fits 4G3 square boom and is secured by a CNC metal bracket with 2 screws. Though this V-shape tail holder looks similar to the tail holder available in China with no manual, no motor clamp, so it is not the same. The motor in this kit is secured by a Wow Hobbies exclusive motor-locking-clamp instead of glue so the motor will not dislodge from the tail holder during a crash. Since no glue is needed to lock the motor to the tail holder, the motor can easily be removed for service. For your convenience, the motor and the tail motor holder have been assembled together. A tiny drop of locktite to keep the motor from turning inside the holder is recommended, no gluing is necessary.

 

It is important to match up this brushless tail kit with a more powerful brushless main motor such as the Turbo Ace 91416 high performance BL motor. The brushless tail setup alone will not allow you to fly 3D without a powerful main motor. The same weaker Walkera BL main motor on the 4#3b was used on the 4G3 which resulted in a startup problem when a higher teeth 16T pinion is used. Instead of redesigning a completely new stronger motor, Walkera has chosen to step down to a 12T pinion to band-aid the problem. Consequently, the current stock BL main and the tail motors on the 4G3 lack both in torque and KV during 3D flights. Turbo Ace 91416 on the other hand has been designed from the start with high performance 3D flight in mind. It not only provides 25% more power with smooth start technique and increased KV/torque using 16T pinion. Important! Buyers beware, when you purchase a tail holder, make sure that it comes with a locking device for the motor, either screws or a locking clamp to secure the motor otherwise the tail motor can be easily detached with vibration or during a crash, resulting in total damage of your BL tail motor.

 

This holder fits V120D03 and 4G3 square boom and includes a carbon fiber tail stand. Stock V120D03 and 4G3 has limited 3D capability due to weak brushles 2g brushless tail motor withou bearings. This kit allows the V120D03 and 4G3 to do stunning 3D maneuvers! The tail of a V120D03 and 4G3 holds very solid for excellent 3D flight with this brushless tail upgrade. For further 3D performance potential you can also upgrade the main motor to the Turbo Ace 71316 or 31714 brushless.
