Why is the 2.9g Turbo Ace 29700 brushless tail motor a better choice than the Walkera 2g tail motor which is the Turbo Ace 27700 motor? We carry both motors and we think you should know the difference when you are paying extra. The 2.9g motor has about 50% more torque/power and it comes with double bearings versus the 2g with no bearings. The bearings significantly reduce the operating temperature in flight and prolongs the life of the motor!

 

This tail kit includes 2.9g C-shape feather weight (a mere 0.5g) tail motor carbon fiber stand with CNC tail boom clamp and a  2.9g BL outrunner motor and brushless wire set. Put an end to crack / twisted tail boom, the CNC tail boom clamps the round tail boom instead of using a sharp screw that cracks it. Also the motor is secured by an exclusive motor-locking clamp. A brushless tail ESC such as a Flea brushless tail ESC with build-in converter is required. This combo does not include the Walkera tail ESC which is needed to drive this 2.9g brushless motor. Also the tail rotor on photo is not included. This tail holder fits CB100 round boom, a CNC metal bracket with 2 screws clamps the boom. Though this C-shape tail holder looks similar to the tail holder available in China, it is not the same. The motor in this kit is secured by a Wow Hobbies exclusive motor-locking-clamp instead of the standard glue-on design so the motor will not dislodge from the tail holder during a crash. Since no glue is needed to attach the motor to the tail holder, the motor can easily be removed for service. For your convenience, the motor and the tail motor holder have been assembled together. At most, a tiny drop of locktite to keep the motor from turning inside the holder is recommended and no gluing is necessary.

 

It is important to match up this brushless tail kit with a more powerful main motor such as the Turbo Ace 91416 BL in-runner or the Turbo Ace 411500, 51416 and 61316 high performance BL out-runner motors. Important! Buyers beware, when you purchase a tail holder, make sure that it comes with a locking device for the motor, either screws or a locking clamp to secure the motor otherwise the tail motor can be easily detached with vibration or during a crash, resulting in total damage of your BL tail motor. This holder fits CB100, 4#3B, Novus FP round boom and includes a Carbon Fiber Tail Stand/Holder and blue CNC Metal Bracket.

 

The 2.9g motor is a very powerful motor which may require trimming the tail rotor blade slightly smaller to balance the power of the main motor. If you are experiencing tail wag after the upgrade even after you have toned down the gyro mix pot on your receiver, you may use a sharp scissor to trim 1.2mm off the trailing edge (not the tip of the blades) of the tail blades. This can also be done to either the CB100, 4#3B or Novus FP helicopter upgrade but may not be necessary.
