The Lama 2-1 is upgraded with precision CNC metal head and stronger more durable high speed lever servos on its newer receiver vs the Novus CX (based on the Lama 2 which we have since discontinued) which still uses the plastic head and low speed screw drive servos. The metal head is a collection of critical mechanisms of the main rotor, and the servos provide the link to the receiver. It takes experience and numerous parts to upgrade the Novus CX so why not just get the fully upgraded Lama 2-1. To service the Lama 2-1, you have the flexibility of using Lama 2-1 parts or Novus CX parts from local hobby shops or on-line stores because they are both made by Walkera and 99% compatible except of the frame and the receiver which are the only difference.

This Lama 2-1 barebone package doesn't not come with a transmitter and its original box. The Lama 2-1, Novus CX, 4#3B, Novus FP, 4#3Q, 5G6-1, 5#10 and other Walkera fix pitch helis will all bind with Walkera's WK-2401 and Novus's HMXJ2021 4-Channel 2.4gHz transmitters (transmitters for all these helis are interchangable). If you are using a WK-2401 or HMXJ2021 transmitter with several Walkera or Nouvs helis, you should remove the single screw which secures the small 1" x 2" plastic dip switch cover on the back of the transmitter and set the switches to 1,2,4 ON and the rest OFF (for Lama 2-1). Parts are also interchangable between the Lama 2-1 and the Novus CX. A note of caution: Given a choice, make sure you go with metal head parts and the Walkera updated Lama2-1 receiver becasue the lever servos on the Lama2-1 receiver last longer and is much more agil and responsive.
