How do I know if an item is in stock?
We use a real-time inventory system, so if and only if you can "add to cart," the item is in stock.

I've just placed an order. When will it ship and when will I get a tracking number?
All orders placed before 9AM PST will be shipped the same day. All orders placed after 9AM PST will be shipped the next day. We do not ship on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.

Why won't you accept phone calls for technical / RMA support?
All of our technical and RMA support is handled strictly through email. With so many customers and so few of us, we simply do not have the capacity to service everyone with phone calls. We want to be able to solve everyone's issues as quickly and effectively as possible, and that is what our system is designed to do. Unfortunately that does mean sometimes you will have to wait a little while for us to email you back, but at least we can guarantee that we WILL get to you, rather than put you through the frustration of calling in to constantly busy phone lines.

When will you answer my email?
We answer most emails within 2 business days (this excludes Sunday). Emails are answered in the order that they are received, so please wait your turn and trust that we will get to you soon.

What is the difference between a "toy" helicopter and a "hobby" helicopter?
Toy helicopters usually consist of older 3 to 3 1/2 channel infrared designs and cheaper materials. Consisting of toy motors, batteries, receivers and transmitters, a toy is not made to last more than 50 to 80 flights. These parts tend to fall apart at about the same time so the toy helicopter is usually trashed after its life-cycle. On the other hand, hobby helicopters offer superior performance, better durability and most importantly continued parts support, so most hobbyists tend to maintain their hobby helicopters over several years.

I'm a beginner pilot. Which rc helicopter do you recommend?
Co-axial helicopters with 2 layers of counter rotating blades are the easiest to fly. They generally do not require any pilot experience. Beginner co-axials include Walkera Lama2-1, LM100D02, *5#10, *53QD, **Lama 400/400D/400 EC135 & Eflite MCX, MCX2, *CX2. *Slightly bigger or **bigger helicopters are more suited for outdoors.

I have some co-axial heli experience. Which non-co-axial helis represents the next pilot level?
The natural next step after a co-axial helicopter is a fixed pitched (FP) helicopter. A self-stabilizing feature such as the bell structure is especially beneficial for this transition. Acting as a mechanical gyroscope, the spinning weights or heavier paddles at the end of the flybar automatically center the main rotor, making it easier for new pilots to hover. The models we recommend here would be the Walkera CB100, 4#6 BELL, **CB180Z-PRO & Eflite MSR, *120 SR. *Slightly bigger or **bigger helicopters are more suited for outdoors.

Will my helicopter be test-flown? Will I be able to fly it out-of-the box?
Our technicians test fly every heli (except for Horizon & Align helis) before sending it out. We assure that the heli is in perfect condition when it leaves our store, but adjustments and bench testing need to be made after the heli is delivered. Sometimes packages go through a rough shipping trip and as a result, wires and parts shift or fall loose.

The customer is responsible for a held-down or tie-down bench test, especially after it has been through shipping vibrations. For a micro or small helicopter, you must first hold the helicopter's landing skid (be careful not to touch the main gear) and test the helicopter functions in your hand. For a medium to large size helicopter (250 size or larger), you must tie down your helicopter to a heavy fixture and test fly it with a few battery cycles.

What's the difference between RTF, BNF, and ARF?
RTF stands for ready-to-fly, BNF stands for bind-n-fly, and ARF stands for almost-ready-to-fly. In most situations, ARF does not include the transmitter or charger. Helis are sold with these options because many pilots already have a transmitter and charger from a different heli that they would like to also use for another. Please look carefully at the descriptions of the package you are considering, to ensure that you get the one that you need.

Can I place an order without making a customer account?
No. We do require that you create an account with us to place orders. This helps us to better organize each customer's information and orders so we can expedite service for any special requests/issues that may come up.

Do I have to pay California Sales Tax?
California Sales Tax only applies to all pick up (will-call) orders and orders shipped to addresses in California.

I am having issues with checking out / paying by Paypal. What do I do?
This happens occasionally and seems to be an issue with our web hosting service, which hasn't been able to work out the bug quite yet. The easiest way around this is just to choose "in-store" as your payment method, then use Paypal's "Send Money" feature (log-in to your paypal account, click "send money," enter the amount owed, and send to sales@wowhobbies.com).

Why has my credit card payment been declined?
(1) Please check and click "Visa Card" or a "Master Card" before entering your card number. (2) Your credit card billing address must match your Wow Hobbies Account billing address. (3) Multiple attempts in charging a card may raise a red flag with your credit card company.

Why is there a charge on my credit card when my order did not go through?
When a payment is declined, your credit card company will often think something went wrong with the transaction and they will often hold the funds for 1 or 2 days before releasing it back into your account. If you can not wait, you should call your credit card company to immediately release the funds.

When will I receive my package? How long will the shipping take?

Can I ship to a different address?
If your shipping and billing addresses do not match, we will send you an authorization form to fill out and send back to us. Only with this written consent will we proceed to process and ship out your order.

Do you offer free shipping?
We only offer free shipping for specific items such as some of our T-Rex packages. Items that qualify have "Free Shipping" banners underneath their photos. Shipment within the US (domestic addresses only) is free, and shipment to international addresses will receive discounted shipping (exact amount can be seen during checkout).

Can I pick up (Will Call) an order to save shipping charges?
Yes, you can place an order online and specify "Pick-up only" as your "Shipping Method." This way you will not be charged for shipping and the order will be waiting for you. If it's a helicopter order you might want to call 714-939-7895 to make sure it's ready for pick up before heading over.

Can you combine multiple orders so I can save on shipping costs?
Combining orders is a special shipping request that we fulfill when possible, but one that we DO NOT GUARANTEE. We are not always able to combine orders- particularly on Mondays, because we are busy shipping out an entire weekend's worth of orders. Please call us in the morning to see if combining your orders is possible that day. If so, we will add free parts to your order to offset the combined shipping cost.

How do I get a quote for international shipping?
(1) You put the item in the shopping cart. (2) Click "View Cart" (3) Click "Checkout" (4) Click "Sign in as a new customer" (5) Enter your address and pull down the country bar to selection your country (6) Now the system knows you are entering a non-USA zip. (7) Complete the rest of the customer information page and click "Next" on the right hand side of the screen (8) Select the correct shipping method if you are given a choice. (9) Click the box for "I've read and agree to the policy... (10) Click "Next" on the lower right hand side of the screen. (11) The shipping cost is then revealed on the "Order Review & Payment Page". (12) If the shipping cost is satisfactory, then complete your payment on this page and Click "Place my order". If the shipping cost doesn't look reasonable you simply back out of this page and go to the www.wowhobbies.com home page and click on "Contact Us" to send us the interested item(s) and your address.

Why doesn't my USPS 1st Class International tracking # work?
Unfortunately, USPS does not offer tracking for 1st Class International packages beyond U.S. borders. If the USPS site says that your package’s status is “Electronic Shipping Info Received” or "Processed through Los Angeles Sorting Facility," this is perfectly normal. This simply means that USPS received the package from us, and is currently processing your package. It is hard for us to estimate the exact shipping arrival date, since every country’s customs operate differently.

How do I request an International charger / plug?
Our standard is 110V, which is what we use in the United States. 220V European plugs are available by request. If you would like one, please type the words "220V charger" where it asks for "Company Name" in the Shipping Address. This will ensure that we catch it while we process your order.

Can I return my item?
Please refer to our Return Policy by scrolling down and clicking on "Return Policy". All return requests must be made via email. Packages WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT AN ISSUED RMA# (Return Merchandize Authorization number).

I was sent the wrong item / I am missing an item. What do I do?
Contact us at sales@wowhobbies.com with the item # of the part you should have received and the item # of the incorrect part that we sent to you. We will likely first ask you to send a copy of the original invoice included in the package.

Are my products covered under warranty?
Only manufacturers Horizon (heli and BLH parts) and Align (heli and AGN parts) offer warranty services for their products. The customer must directly contact the manufacturer's service center for warranty service. Under no circumstance is Wow Hobbies obligated to exchange the products (even if it was just purchased) or to handle the warranty directly / indirectly for the manufacturers.

Please note that Horizon and Align helicopters are NOT test-flown at Wow facilities, because if we opened the box, it would void your warranty.

Can I send my helicopter in for repair?
As of January 2012, we have stopped accepting helicopters for repair. The back-and-forth communication between us and the customers has proved too difficult and costly for us to carry on with the repair service.
