Walkera 4G3 Turbo Double Brushless has been upgraded & replace by the V120D03 & V120D02. Please look for those packages instead.

Why is the 2.9g brushless tail motor is a better choice than the Walkera 2g tail motor that comes with the stock Walkera double brushless? We carry both motors and we think you should know the difference when you are paying extra. The 2.9g motor has about 50% more torque/power and it comes with double bearings verses the 2g with no bearings. The bearings greatly prolongs the life of the motor! The Walkera 2g Brushless motor is extremely weak and will only sustain about 2 crashs verses the 2.9g brushless motor which rarely breaks after multipe crashs. The ESC used in this video is Walkera's newest BL tail ESC with built-in converter. Our test has shown that the Walkera tail ESC performs equally or may be slightly better than the Flea. Overall performance with 2.9g brushless tail motor and Turbo Ace 91416 brushless main motor

 

 

This ultimate double brushless heli includes 2.9g V-shape tail motor carbon fiber holder/stand, motor-locking-clamp, 2.9g BL outrunner motor and the newest Walkera brushless tail ESC with build-in converter.  Though this 2.9g BL motor & V-shape tail holder set looks similar to other sets available else where, it is not the same in the way it secures the motor. The Wow Hobbies 2.9g motor & V-shape Tail Holder set is secured togehter by an exclusive Wow Hobbies locking clamp making it easier to remove for service and almost impossible to break off during a crash.  Since most other 2.9g motor & V-shape tail holder sets are glued togehter, the motor are most likely to pop off in a crash.  Even if you didn't loose the motor in the grass, it is still a hassel to repeatly glue the motor back in place.  And for other more complex tail holders, the additional plastic cage or lock used to secure the tail motor put extra weight on the tail which is absolutely the worse location to throw the helicopter out of balance.   

 

Please note that it is equally important to match the 2.9g brushless tail with a more powerful main motor such as the Turbo Ace 81220 high performance Thermo cool outrunner BL motor. You can think of a powerful main motor and a powerful tail motor as a paired set.  Getting one upgrade without the other usually causes an imbalance.  All of Walkera's stock motors including main & tail and brush & brushless motors are all too weak to make more advanced 3D manuvers.  For the 4G3 main motor, Walkera has used the same weaker brushless motor used on the 4#3B which resulted in motor stalling in a hard bank and when you try to upgrade it to a 16T it often cogs during startup. Instead of redesigning a completely new stronger motor, Walkera has chosen to step down to a 12T pinion to band-aid the startup problem. Consequently, the current stock double brushless heli is still lacking both in torque and KV during 3D flights. Turbo Ace 81220 has been designed from the start with high performance 3D performance in mind. It not only provides much more power but also features smooth start technology with increased KV using a 16T pinion. Important! Buyers beware, when you purchase a double brushless heli, make sure that it comes with a locking device for the tail motor, either locked by screws or a locking clamp otherwise the tail motor can easily be dislodged from vibration or a crash which results in a total damage of your BL tail motor.
